Stephens, Roberta Stephens Roberta

Roberta assists small preaching places located in rural towns outside Sendai. She also ministers to the non-Christian kitchen staff of Morigo Christian Campsite, through Bible study, as well as to the management staff as they reach out to the campers.

Roberta’s first assignment was to work with students at Shokei Jo Gakuin in the northeastern city of Sendai. She later taught English conversation, spoke in daily chapel services and worked with small group Bible clubs for 17 years. She also coordinated the Shokei Abroad American home-stay program through the school. Through this program more than 250 students have spent Christmas with American Baptist families. Roberta has also led adult Bible studies for educators from various schools, and has enjoyed teaching kindergartners at her church and ministering to their mothers.
